We will include Zambia into a future extended safari through Southern Africa.

The main roads appear to be in good condition in general, the people are very friendly and there are positive signs of economic activity everywhere. The numerous charcoal depots are however a serious concern for the environment in general.

Once you venture off the main routes the roads deteriorate drastically, for example the road to Shiwa Ngandu (Kapishya Hotsprings). The end destination is however worth the effort to get there – we got the same comments from other travelers regarding the rest of Zambia.
